Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards
Before diving into the many unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which gamers can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a little (It is treated as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.
Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced designer stated. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:
As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the new cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for over a year and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area rather than only one). Check them out below:
This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra 37 Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)
What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.
TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)
As per usual, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:
- Nine Standard Boosters
- Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
- Fifteen Regular land cards
- 2 Reference cards
- One Traditional foil promotional card
- One Large life tracker
- One storage box
Pizza Bundle
This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:
- Nine Play Boosters
- One Premium Booster
- Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
- 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
- Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
- 2 Reference cards
- 1 Large spindown life counter
- One storage box
If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:
- 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
- One Premium Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
- 90 Regular land cards (to build your deck)
- Ten Non-foil token cards
- One Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)
Cooperative Play Set
Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The concept here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
